Outgrowing Technology

I once read quote presumably by Einstein,
"I fear the day when the technology overlaps with our humanity. The world will only have a generation of idiots"
accompanied by photos of different group of people sitting together but had their eyes on their phones instead of interacting with each other. Regardless of whether the quote is original from Einstein or if it is actually another addition to long list of internet hoax, it made a lot of sense with what happen with our community today.

Just two days a go I read a lady selling her two used a year old iPads in a buy-sell group. She stated "These used to be my kids iPad but they outgrew them." First iPad. First. iPad. I mean, what kind of a world do we live in now that kids got their own iPad where they would outgrew them. Dont get me wrong, I love technology but I do not treat iPad like clothe where my kid would outgrew them in a matter of months.

Talking about technology, I just got my new iPhone 6 Plus. I do not feel that much difference in terms of speed or technology, except of the Health app. Since I will start walking again with my neighbors this week, this apps will become useful - at least I know how much calories I am entitled gulp in after the run. Ha!

Another thing that I want to share is about this item. I think this gadget is so cute. I am not sure if this is actually useful for me; I mean it does everything that a phone can do, but instead of typing you can speak to it. Anyway, I think it 's just cute!

Able to upload pictures, finally.

I'm finally able to upload pictures. It was rather difficult to do it this time with a new computer. Wait, have i wrote that I have a new computer? Yeah, we have a NEW ONE, it's a SONY VAIO JS, the sleek, lean desktop, yeah!!! 4 Gigs, plus we decided to invest on a new, extra disk storage of 1... TERRA bytes!!! Yeah, my baby rules!

From DIVA: See the world from the eyes of Turike...

( Ijust put the "undercover economist" book just to make the picture looks more intelligent :p normally the keyboard is smudged with chocolate-covered little hand prints, and right now i'm reading the X Men comic instead of the "undercover economist" :p)

Anyway, back to the problem. Before, it was easy for me to upload pictures from my phone camera. Just turn the bluetooth on, simply send the pics to the laptop (before was a laptop) then upload it via blogger tool.
But now... *sigh* first I have to allign the handphone and the PC, and I have to do it via a PC Sync program. Which was like, difficult, because every time I try to syncronise the phone, it upload 200 pictures in the picture folder instead of a single picture that I wanted to upload in the first place. Then afterwards, like I mentioned earlier, my freaking browser didn't allow me to upload pictures from my PC folder OR even from the web.
So, now I need to use a picture uploader on the net and embed the pictures instead of uploading it.

But, what the heck, I using a Sony Vaio JS, can't complain, woohoo!

Hello From Jakarta (3)

For those of you who thinks that Jakarta is Hell, think again. I went to a hectic trade center (yes, hectic like hell) yesterday and found this baby store. There is not even a proper signage or placement shelf, but the stuff that you found were no lesser than branded stuff in a pricey baby store like mother care or the first few years (In Singapore). And the price? 30%, 40% or even less than 50% off!!
I found this jumparoo ( just like the name, it's like a jumping seat for babies over 6 mths) in Singapore for 240 SGD.

We planned to buy it at first, but then decided to spare some time to think about it. Then, yesterday, out of the blue I found the SAME ITEM exactly, sitting on the floor of the cheap baby store, for how much? No, not 200, not 150, not even 100 SGD... it's only 87.5 SGD!!! CHEAP LIKE HELL!! That's less than half from the original price of a branded baby store in Singapore! I bought the item directly without further ado. Now, I'll search for more bargain items in more places. Perhaps some designer baby bag? Hi hi hi. VIVA Jakarta!

Killing... errr Shopping Spree.

I went to a shopping spree yesterday, woohoo!
I don't remember the last time I went to such a BIG Sale like that. YES, you can call me a " snob" because normally I don't do "SALE" shopping haha!
The truth is, I HATE Sale. Because it means you need to rub shoulders during the shopping spree with 1 thousand people, just to be able to 'digest' the discounts. Or in other words:
SALE = TOO CROWDY.
But this time, I just wanna give it a try. And boy, I'm glad I did try it out! It was mostly 50% discounts on everything, from gowns, dresses, to shorts. And again I want to SHOW OFF the dresses I bought in such bargain prices.

Purple Ballon Semi Wool Dress.

Bohemian Classic dress.
A friend who went to the shopping with me told me there will be more Sale in 2 weeks. I guess i'm gonna keep my self busy these next weeks. Dont bother to check my blog. KIDDING!!! Ill keep up the updates of the SALE SHOPPING SPREE , hihihi.

Showing Off 2 : iPod Nano 4th generation

God Loves Us.

After we got a Nokia E71 for free, last Friday hubby just realized he got a 4th Gen iPod 16 Gigs, also for free! So last night we had a good time transferring the songs from our old 3rd Gen iPod to the new own. The look is stylish and flawless. The silver casing enhances the sleekness of the design. Good sounds and nice video as well. And with 16 gigs we can put like, ONE MILLION SONGSSSSSSSSSSSS. Anyway, have to be careful though, the "shake" function is built-in so it cannot be shut off.

Showing Off: my new Nokia E71

I am not a tech-savvy person; my current handphone was bought 3 years ago which according to my hubby - and most Indonesians- is already “totally outdated”.
So, when his office made a programme of offering their loyal employees with the newest handphone set, of course my hubby takes advantage of it. Thus, starting this Monday, I got myself a new handphone: a stylish Nokia E71.

It takes many elements and features from iPhone AND Blackberry, but in a better design: look at the bright-chrome casing.. whoaaaaa so stylish….

And just like every smartphone it has also a QWERTY keypad, which makes it easier to type on. Yuppie!
But however, I found the user interface is not as simple as all my previous-100-Nokia handphones (OK I admitted, I’m a Nokia fan). There are soooo many menu, menu, menu and MENU. Most of the features/ elements are hidden/burried and not many people will have the patience to explore it: including myself. But that’s OK, I now have a reason to spend time with, and that’s to work out on my new gem- my Handphone, Ha ha.
All in all it’s a very hardworking Smartphone and it’s gonna be a long time to find such phone that will outdo it.
